Verdant Nest is a houseplant journal for people who live in ordinary flats: north-facing windows, radiators, busy weeks, and the occasional forgotten watering can.
I started it in 2020, after killing my fourth calathea and deciding that the internet's advice — “bright indirect light, water when the top inch is dry” — was not quite enough to go on. Since then I have kept careful notes on what actually works, what merely survives, and what is not worth the worry.
There are no miracle products here and no plant-shaming. A plant that dies is information, not a moral failure. The goal is a greener home that fits the life you actually have.
